Bertie
Bertie is our 1974 late T2 Bay classic VW campervan, with a newly fitted canvas for the lift roof. With his stunning blue coachwork and the colour coded interior, he is a very special campervan. Having undergone a body restoration and new fit out, Bertie is ready start his new adventures!
Due to Bertie's age, he is limited to the North of England. However, with the North Yorkshire Moors, Northumberland, Yorkshire Dales and The Lake District to name a few places, the North of England has plenty to explore!
Interior
Bertie is fitted with a beautiful a kitchen unit housing and really good size fridge. A 2-ring gas burner hob and a sink which is fed by a pump from a 13-litre water container is also fitted. Additionally, this unit includes a cutlery draw and a storage cupboard which is great for the keeping all those essentials inside. We also provide a storage crate which has the added benefit of doubling as extra seating. The crate can also be lifted out of the campervan, if required. Sleeping
Bertie can sleep up to 4 people. He is fitted with a 3/4 width ‘rock and roll’ double bed. Also, he has 2 bunk beds when the pop top is up! If you need extra sleeping space you can also hire an awning with a sleeping pod.
Keeping you safe
Bertie is fitted with a gas safety locker, with a drop vent to outside. Keeping you safe is a priority so we ensure that gas installations are annually tested in accordance with the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998. In addition, he has a carbon monoxide alarm and fire extinguisher. Bertie is fitted with 2 x Rear Seat belts, with 2 at the front. Bertie is MOT exempt due to his age. However, we MOT him yearly regardless.
Berties Electric’s
A modern power management system is fitted. Bertie has a solar panel on his roof. This provides charge to leisure batteries which in turn powers the lights, USB points, 12V points and fridge. When connected to electric hook up on site, you will also be able to use the plug sockets.
Peace of mind
We enjoy maintaining Bertie and we take every care to keep him to a high standard. In the unlikely event that you experience a break down, we provide breakdown cover and recovery service. Due to his age, he carries a spares pack, which the breakdown service can use, giving you the best chance that the camper can be fixed and you can continue with your journey.
